Yunda Central Plaza, a landmark spanning 123,031 square meters, is a multi-faceted destination featuring office spaces, retail outlets, and hotels. With a 100-meter tall W-Hotel tower and a 250-meter tall tower housing a St. Regis hotel, the Plaza stands as one of the tallest approved skyscrapers in Changsha. This development ranks as the fifth-largest twin hotel tower project in China and the second-largest in central China.

The design of Yunda Central Plaza is inspired by the principles of sustainability, smart technology, and interactive components. The complex is envisioned to become a sought-after destination for travelers and businessmen alike, with two popular hotel chains, meeting facilities, entertainment options, and luxurious shopping.

Several unique properties set Yunda Central Plaza apart from other designs. The sky garden, covering over 50% of the total roof area, reduces heat energy demand in heating and cooling of internal spaces. The use of low emissivity coating glass and other recycled materials effectively lowers the building's solar intake. The green landscape on top of the W Hotel and Shopping Mall not only draws people to the roof garden area but also reduces solar intake and enhances air quality.

The project faced several design challenges. The client's ambition to implement a high-quality mixed-use development project required both overarching and detailed plans to be carried out simultaneously. The project also aimed to be a Transit-Oriented Development (TOD), requiring careful consideration of its connections to existing transportation networks.

Despite these challenges, the Yunda Central Plaza stands as a testament to innovative design and architectural excellence. The project was awarded Silver in A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award in 2019, a prestigious accolade rewarding top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs.
